Creator terms

Plain words, in writing.

These terms govern creative submissions to Maya Studios. They exist to protect you as much as us.

1. Ownership

You retain full copyright and all rights to anything you submit. Submitting work to Maya Studios grants us only the right to review it internally. Nothing is produced, published, adapted or sold without a separate written agreement signed by you.

2. Originality

Only submit work you created and have the right to share. Do not submit work that belongs to someone else, is under an exclusive agreement elsewhere, or contains material you cannot license.

3. Review

Every submission is reviewed by the Maya creative team. Review times vary. A submission may be declined without detailed feedback; declining is not a judgement of your talent.

4. No guarantees

Maya Studios does not guarantee selection, acquisition, production or earnings for any submission. Most submissions are not acquired. Anyone who promises you guaranteed selection or income in Maya's name is not speaking for Maya.

5. Acquisition and licensing

If we want to use your work, we propose written terms: the scope of use, a fixed acquisition fee and/or a royalty percentage, and a payment schedule. You may negotiate, take independent advice, or decline. The agreement is controlled by Maya's administration and signed by both parties before any use.

6. Royalties

Where an agreement includes royalties, you receive periodic royalty statements and payments on the agreed schedule. Statements and payment records are visible in your Maya dashboard.

7. AI production

Maya Studios produces films and media through AI-powered virtual production. By signing an agreement, you acknowledge your work may be adapted, performed and rendered through AI-powered processes, always under human creative supervision.

8. Withdrawal

You may withdraw a submission at any time before signing an agreement by contacting us. Signed agreements are governed by their own terms.
